Pieter qualified as a CA(SA) at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Johannesburg, South Africa. He then joined the AFGRI Group in 2002 as Divisional Financial Director for the Grain Storage business and later became responsible for business development and growing the business. This was where CMI was conceptualised, which was subsequently established under Pieter’s leadership and guidance and has since developed into an internationally-recognised and reputable brand. Pieter is well known in the soft commodity storage industry in Southern Africa and has expert knowledge of alternative storage models and management practices. He has also been involved in various successful projects, including real-time bulk stock measurement systems and controls, e-warehouse receipt platforms and implementations, and various storage infrastructure developments. Pieter represents AFGRI on the Board of Electronic Silo Certificates.
